Indian sports today is undoubtedly undergoing a sea change as far as equipping talented individuals to take up sports at the highest levels is concerned. However, the entire sports scenario is also open to looking at smart models from entrepreneurs in order to better equip and ensure that facilities reach across the length and breadth of the country.

Now, with bettering sports facilities; and sports in general is concerned; Entrepreneur India looks at listing the three potential smart leverages available to entrepreneurs today to craft models. AT this juncture, it is worth noting that there have been successful business in sports which are doing their bit to enhance the domain as a whole. It should not hurt for entrepreneurs to explore the advantages of being "sportspreneurs":

Taking India towards "Olympic superpower' status

If you are desirous of getting into sportspreneurship, the time is now seemingly ripe to craft solutions to ensure that sportspersons are just not well trained physically, but also have the mental acumen to make it big at international events such as the Olympics which is considered as prestigious.

"Previously, the sports sector was considered a loss-making venture but with the boom of multi-sporting events and leagues that is soon to change," states Sandeep Madhavan who is Co-Founder at Sportobuddy.

These multi sporting leagues have definitely brought with them aspects such as innovative technology which when harnessed could potentially change the face of Indian sports. This is an area where your creative entrepreneurial acumen could come in. You could even consider building your own technology elements to further the sports cause.

Additionally, sports needs inculcation as a subject of study rather than merely a pastime; your venture could also get into the sports education aspect through fun learning modes whilst informing the vast majority on the importance of holistic (even rural games) sporting activities. When properly done, India could actually sprint to achieving the Olympic superpower stature within comparatively lesser time periods.

Inculcate which suits the mind and body

As sportspreneurs, you could even help budding sportsmen cultivate the sportsmanship spirit. AN illustration here is adventure sports/sports themed activities which help bring out and cultivate sportsmanship nuances but also act as catalysts to refresh the body and brain.

"All adventure sports business models should be centered on safety practices. People should have confidence by seeing the practices in operation, and know that they are in safe hands," believes Rahul Nigam who is Founder and Managing Director at Jumpin Heights.

This is a clear parameter for sportspreneurs, by ensuring safety upto international standards; and with solutions created through technology elements viz Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Machine Learning it should not be difficult to achieve that "holistic feeling'.

Set milestones and motivation

There could be business milestones here as well. How about being a homegrown sports facilitator brand to reach unicorn status in India. This could serve as potential inspiration for the newbies and budding sportspreneurs to follow suit.

"Walking, running, jumping, anything. Even the very basics of physical activities have become rare. Be it anything, some form of sport is needed for kids to at least have the choice and realize their potential," stated Prakash Padukone - a renowned sports professional.

Now, the onus is on young sportspreneurs to at least help inculcate a spirit of taking up sports as an activity at the minimum; this could potentially lead to bigger things for the country.
